The Indian Institute ⁢for Human Settlements (IIHS),‌ in partnership with the Bengaluru Sustainability Forum,⁢ is set to host an⁤ engaging assortment of sessions focused on urban biodiversity this upcoming Saturday, November 16. These educational activities are​ part of the ongoing ‍Urban ⁤Ecology Exhibition held⁢ at the IIHS Library, ​designed to⁤ familiarize​ a wider audience with‌ this ​critical area of environmental study through interactive experiences centered around India’s ⁣unique ecological landscape. The⁤ exhibition⁣ will⁢ continue ⁣until ‌December 24 and has been‌ thoughtfully curated by Mihir‍ Kulkarni from the School of Environment ⁣and Sustainability at IIHS, along ‍with ‍contributions from the Bengaluru Sustainability Forum and the library team.

Attendees can look forward⁣ to an enriching lineup of presentations and workshops throughout Saturday’s schedule.⁤ Highlights⁤ include:

  • Responsible Seafood Choices: This ‍insightful talk presented by Mayuresh⁣ Gangal, co-founder‌ of ⁢Know Your⁢ Fish Initiative, will delve into sustainable seafood practices.
  • Urban Edibles⁣ Workshop: Participants can enjoy‍ a⁢ talk followed by a live cooking demonstration titled Edible Plants in the Urban Ecosystem, led by visual artist‍ and ‍culinary facilitator ⁣Suresh Kumar⁢ G.
  • Cultural Narratives: Join performance storyteller Vikram Sridhar for a session uncovering Urban Ecology in Folklore and Culture,‌ where⁣ he will bring ⁢traditional tales alive through interactive storytelling.
