Heather Locklear Reflects on Love and Friendship at Steel City ⁣Con

A Nostalgic‍ Reunion with David Spade

At ‌63, Heather Locklear recently graced the Steel City⁢ Con‌ in ⁤Monroeville, Pennsylvania, on December 6. During a lively Q&A session, she shared heartfelt memories of her brief romance with comedian David Spade. The two were involved for a short period in 2006 after initially meeting during a Saturday Night Live episode back in 1994 when Spade was one of⁤ the ⁤show’s writers.

Expressing warmth towards Spade, now 60 years old, Locklear stated to the audience, “He ranks among my all-time favorite people. I truly cherish him.”‍ She humorously reminisced about their first kiss:⁤ “His birthday coincided with my dad’s,” she recalled. “Can you believe it? He kissed me and I thought, ‘Wow, you even kiss like my dad!’”

In addition to their romantic history, Locklear made a guest appearance on Spade’s ‌sitcom Rules ‌of Engagement in 2007. Their friendship has endured over the years.

Celebrating Iconic Collaborations

Locklear’s appearance at this convention came on the heels of her return to public life after nearly three years away from such events. In September‌ at 90s ⁣Con Florida, she reconnected ‍with fellow Melrose Place cast members including Josie Bissett and Daphne Zuniga for a ⁤panel discussing a possible revival of the iconic series.

Zuniga revealed that “everyone is on board” for what could be an exciting new chapter for fans: “Laura and I have been working behind the scenes; it’s currently under negotiation.” Leighton echoed these sentiments ‌by stating that while timing is crucial, there’s eagerness from both actors and fans alike.

Engaging Conversations About ⁣Acting

During her solo ‍panel segment at Steel ‍City Con, Locklear discussed⁣ her affinity for more audacious characters like ‌Amanda ⁣Woodward from Melrose Place. “I find playing ⁢roles outside conventional norms exhilarating,” she shared with enthusiasm. “When embodying someone perceived as ‘mean,’ you don’t⁤ necessarily see yourself as such—but rather as someone who‌ believes they are⁢ justified.”

Latest Projects & Personal Joys

Locklear recently made waves returning to television after a significant hiatus through Lifetime’s true-crime film titled Mormon Mom Gone Wrong: The Ruby Franke Story, which aired on October 28. In this project, she portrayed Jodi Hildebrandt—a marriage counselor embroiled in serious ⁢legal troubles‌ alongside⁢ vlogger Ruby Franke.

Beyond her professional life, happiness filled Locklear’s personal realm earlier this year when ⁢her daughter Ava Sambora⁤ got engaged to Tyler Farrar just before Valentine’s Day. Ava—27 years old and daughter of Rock star Richie Sambora—joyfully announced her‌ engagement via Instagram ⁤where proud mom Locklear chimed in with affection: “My two ‌favorite people ⁢💗.”

The couple ‍celebrated their love surrounded by family during an intimate⁣ engagement party described as “a lovely gathering full of joy.”
