David Schwimmer Reflects on Age and Nostalgia While Filming Goosebumps: The Vanishing
During the production of the young adult series Goosebumps: The Vanishing, David Schwimmer had a moment of realization about growing older, reminding him that he is indeed no longer a youthful adult.
In an interview with PEOPLE for their segment “One Last Thing,” the acclaimed actor reminisced about a recent minor injury he sustained while shooting. He shared that he inadvertently strained his back during repeated stunt work for the show adapted from R. L. Stine’s popular book series.
“There was a day on set where we had to film an action sequence multiple times,” Schwimmer explained.
“I got spun around on my office chair and then pulled forward suddenly. While it wasn’t serious at the time, I certainly felt it the next day when I thought, ’Wow, I’m not 22 anymore.'” For context, Schwimmer is currently 58 years old.
The Emmy-nominated star articulated that although he felt generally achy afterward, his back was especially sore.

“We rehearsed thoroughly and performed it numerous times,” said Schwimmer. “Initially, everything felt fine; however, by morning I understood why my body was protesting.”
Moments of Reflection Beyond Acting
Swimmers also shared several poignant reflections:
A Heartfelt Nostalgic Moment
Earlier today marked an important milestone as folks discussed the 30th anniversary of Friends. It filled me with immense gratitude knowing that new audiences continue to find joy and comfort in our beloved show after all these years.
Practicing Self-Care
I rarely indulge myself like this but recently treated myself to a deep tissue massage. With life’s pressures ranging from stress to travel—the body deserves some pampering occasionally! It’s surprising how often I neglect this self-care routine; perhaps I should prioritize it more often.
A Proud Parent Moment
This sense of pride occurs nearly every day with my daughter Cleo—who recently completed an outstanding art project depicting Alan Turing. My reaction? “Wow, that’s genuinely impressive!”
Indulging in Comfort Food
My guilty pleasure has become Whitley’s Peanut Factory’s milk chocolate peanut clusters sold in gigantic tins—I devoured nearly half a tin while enjoying some alone time watching TV! In fact, I’ve just ordered ten more tins!
Goosebumps: The Vanishing is currently available for streaming on both Disney+ and Hulu.
