Danny DeVito’s Joyful Journey as a Grandfather

Embracing Family Life

Danny⁢ DeVito, the beloved actor renowned for his role in It’s Always Sunny⁤ in Philadelphia, is relishing ‍his new role as a grandfather. The 80-year-old star recently shared his heartfelt reflections on the joys of grandparenthood in a video released by AARP.

New Additions to the Family

DeVito’s family has expanded with exciting news; his eldest daughter, Lucy Chet DeVito, 41, welcomed her son Carmine with her partner in July 2024. Additionally, Rhea Perlman, DeVito’s long-time companion and⁤ mother of his children—though they remain officially unwed—shared that their younger daughter Grace “Gracie” Fan DeVito, 39, also became a parent ⁤when she had ⁣a daughter named Sinclair Lucille DeVito. Their family unit is rounded out by their son Jacob “Jake” Daniel ⁤DeVito who is now 37 years old.

A Heartfelt Perspective on Parenthood

Speaking candidly about the delightful changes in his life over the past couple ⁣of years,⁤ DeVito expressed how overwhelmed he feels⁢ with joy at having two grandchildren: ‌”With each ⁢baby that arrives within my daughters’ families comes an ever-increasing fountain of happiness,” he ‌noted humorously.

Drawing parallels‌ to patience and attention during parenting, he mentioned ⁤an age-old adage: “A watched pot never ⁣boils.” ‌Through this metaphor, he emphasized the importance ‌of‌ allowing children to develop naturally without pressure: “I find myself observing them closely because‍ I want them to flourish and not feel rushed,” he explained.

Wisdom Passed Down

DeVito makes it a point to pass along these pieces of wisdom not only ⁣for himself but also for his daughters: “Life moves quickly; relish every ‌moment because if you blink too often you might miss your child mastering something new,” he advises wholeheartedly.

He reflects on how being part ⁣of this expanding family serves as one of life’s greatest motivators.

Family – The True Treasure

Persistent through every chapter ⁣life throws at him is one burning ⁤conviction from DeVito — ⁣familial bonds hold unparalleled significance. He articulates this beautifully: “Ultimately what remains⁤ precious⁢ are our families and friendships; these ⁣connections⁤ serve as our ⁢anchors.” His gratitude shines through as⁤ he acknowledges feeling blessed—the ultimate wish being that everyone might experience such fortune themselves.

Currently still making waves on screen following recent appearances in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and ⁤ A Sudden Case of ⁣Christmas, Danny continues to⁣ contribute significantly to pop culture through both It’s Always Sunny‌ in Philadelphiaand appearances like guest-starring alongside ABC’s Abbott Elementary, which aired its special crossover episode earlier this year on January 8th.
